Understanding our local Built Heritage as an aid to preservation of the Nation’s history

 

The Hamlet of Ockley has grown from the lands of the Ockley Estate, incorporating the main house at Ockley Manor over the course of several centuries, as a linear settlement either side of Ockley Lane, in Keymer, West Sussex. The growth of the hamlet tells us much about the rise and importance of farming in the local community

Ockley Manor Farm barns in use to 2015. The land is actively farmed for grazing and silage and hay production up to the present day.
